Have to send it back to surefire to replace batteries to keep warranty in tact. Should have a reversible clip to carry tail cap up if you desired Fits in pocket better than a round light I will report back if it turns on while clipped but so far so good. The first day I had it unclipped in my left front pocket and it did turn on when I was reaching in to grab my wallet to use the card reader, but my protac 1L-aa did the same thing every once in a while. I am on day 2 of wearing it clipped to my left front pocket. I think this will be the EDC and nocturnal running companion for the near future. It is hard to go back to bright LED white and I wonder why all light makers aren’t using warm LEDs or at least making them an option. Seemed just right.Ībout all I miss is the warm light of the Zebralight. ![]() I did not bother to change the factory settings of low, mid, high, off for the side and momentary on high for the tail. Have taken just another couple mm on the wings. Surefire missed an opportunity by making the light unable to tailstand. I removed it and just pocket the light and it sits nicely there until needed. The clip is stupidly located to put the light straight up, and sticking out of the pocket. It blows away both these 200 lumen lights. Weight is nearly as light at the 1AA Zebralight. Light beam is bright, even and beautiful with a very nice flood spill. ![]() Much better than Surefire’s tail clicky of the past. I have a preference for a switch near the head for general use, but I do find the momentary on switch in the tail very intuitive. One reason I bought a Malkoff Bodyguard V2 with a shrouded switch is that it is the perfect combination of a flashlight and impact weapon. They also might prevent your being able to take your flashlight somewhere if it is identified as a weapon. Crenelations might cause some surface lacerations but really don’t contribute to the forcefulness of the blow. My preference is a non-crenelated bezel that extends out from the lens. I don't need another - please!ĮDC is a E1D, I smoothed the squarish bezel corners to keep it from eating my pants. I have a zillion Surefires of various sizes in the inventory. My plan was to turn up the light in the dummy's eyes and then bop him. I was chastized as I was supposed to pick up a tennis racket for the bopping. So have we abandoned the idea of the strike bezel and popping folks in the head with the flashlight? It's now just a light? I did bop a 3D dummy in the head with a Surefire cylindrical model at the old NTI when they gave us a revolver with only three rounds. Output is full power for about 20-30 min, then slowly begins to taper off for about 2 more hours. I throw it on the charger about every 3 weeks. Coyote finish light defaults to 250 and goes to 100 lumen with the double tap. The black finished light defaults to 100 lumen and goes to 250 with the double tap. VERY small in the pocket, two modes (100 or 250 lumen) and built in micro usb charger. I want to like the stiletto, but this post really strikes home for me.įor small EDC light chores, I recently picked up a Streamlight Microstream USB light. I’ve had a couple of the non-rechargeable versions of this, and the larger rechargeable version, for quite some time, and still can’t find anything wrong with any of them.
